Milbank LLP has published the Winter 2022/2023 issue of ProjectsPlus, the firm’s projects, energy and infrastructure magazine. This issue covers climate change and ESG trends, the Inflation Reduction Act, new disclosure rules, EVs and other trends that are shaping the markets in 2023. This issue also highlights some notable recent transactions and introduces new partners in Milbank’s energy and infrastructure practice.
The Winter 2022/2023 issue of ProjectsPlus features the newest episode of our Law, Policy & Markets: Milbank Conversations podcast, “Climate Change Outlook: ‘Good COP, Bad COP.’” Milbank partners Allan Marks and Chris Taufatofua share personal reflections from their participation at the COP27 UN Climate Change Conference, look at climate trends from 2022, and preview 2023. They discuss global clean energy investment, the special role of oceans, negotiations for a new international fund to redress the “loss and damage” from climate change impacts, and the gap between pledges and progress in reducing global greenhouse gas emissions.
The new issue analyzes the energy provisions of the Inflation Reduction Act, the US Supreme Court’s decision in West Virginia v. EPA, the SEC’s proposed climate-related risk disclosure rules in the US, ESG-related disclosures and reporting requirements in the UK, and the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Formula Program (NEVI). Other articles address how energy transition is fueling M&A in Asia, the principles and structures of Islamic finance, and the use of project bonds to fund investment across a broad spectrum of industrial activities.
