Allison Sloto is an associate in the New York office of Milbank LLP and a member of the Environmental Practice Area within the firm’s Global Corporate Group.

Primary Focus & Experience

Ms. Sloto focuses her practice on a range of environmental matters, particularly on identifying and resolving environmental issues and liability in transactions, including financing, project development, mergers and acquisitions, real estate development, securities offerings, and corporate restructuring. She regularly provides environmental advice and due diligence support for a variety of infrastructure projects, including traditional and renewable energy projects as well as digital infrastructure. Her educational background allows her to provide a multidisciplinary perspective when counseling clients on climate change and sustainability concerns.

Before joining Milbank, Ms. Sloto represented developers on a wide range of projects requiring environmental and land use permitting, including site plan and/or special permit approvals, variances, the New York State Environmental Quality Review Act, tidal and freshwater wetlands, wastewater and stormwater discharges, solid and hazardous waste management, and the New York State Brownfield Cleanup Program. She has also litigated environmental and land use claims, including Article 78 proceedings and Section 1983 due process claims.

Recognition & Accomplishments

Ms. Sloto has published a number of articles and client alerts on a variety of environmental topics including renewable energy, ESG, and wetlands regulations, and has co-authored a law review article on hydraulic fracturing. She has been selected yearly since 2021 as a Super Lawyers Environmental Rising Star. She is a graduate of the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University and Yale School of the Environment’s Juris Doctorate/ Masters in Environmental Management program. She has previously served on the Environmental Law and Land Use, Planning and Zoning Committees of the New York City Bar Association and as an Elected Director of the Westchester Women’s Bar Association. During 2025, she was a Law360 Environmental Editorial Board member. While in law school, Ms. Sloto was the Research & Writing Editor for the Pace Environmental Law Review.
