Milbank LLP advised on four 2025 “Deal of the Year” transactions that were recognized at the IJGlobal Asia Pacific Awards event held on April 16, 2026, in Singapore. The firm also was shortlisted for the APAC Legal Adviser of the Year Award. The IJGlobal Awards focus on the infrastructure and energy sectors.
Milbank’s award-winning work was recognized in the following categories:
Airport Deal of the Year. Milbank advised Apollo-managed funds, affiliates and other long-term investors in connection with a $750 million investment grade rated financing for Mumbai International Airport Ltd., an Adani Portfolio company and subsidiary of Adani Airports Holdings Limited, India’s largest private airport operator. The transaction represents one of the largest private investment grade rated deals in India’s infrastructure sector. The Milbank team was led by partners James Orme and Terrence O’Donnell, with additional senior support from David Zemans and Giles Kennedy, and included associates Deirdre Swift, Wei Sheng Lee, Kris Singh and Eugene Tan.
Digital Infrastructure Deal of the Year. Milbank represented the finance parties, including Clifford Capital, Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank, DB International (Asia) Limited, Kiatnakin Phatra Bank Public, Standard Chartered Bank (Singapore) Limited, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation and The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited, in connection with the $560 million greenfield project financing of an up to 102.6 MW hyperscale data-center campus in EEC, Thailand. The multidisciplinary Milbank team was led by Global Projects, Energy and Infrastructure Finance Group partners James Orme and David Zemans, together with special counsel Rosaline Yusman and included members of our Global Risk & National Security, Alternative Investments and Tax practices.
Geothermal Deal of the Year. Milbank advised DBS Bank Ltd. and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation as lenders to Star Energy Geothermal on the financing of the capacity expansion of the Wayang Windu, Salak and Darajat geothermal projects in Indonesia. Star Energy Geothermal is a leading geothermal energy producer in Indonesia and a subsidiary of Barito Renewables Energy, one of the biggest publicly listed renewable energy companies in Indonesia. The Milbank team was led by partners James Orme and David Zemans, and included partners Giles Kennedy and Terry O'Donnell, of counsel Desiree Woo, special counsel Rosaline Yusman, and associates Deirdre Swift and Kris Singh.
Water Deal of the Year. Milbank advised the joint global coordinators and joint bookrunners in connection with the initial public offering by Maynilad Water Services, Inc. of 2.3 billion shares that were listed on the Philippine Stock Exchange. Valued at approximately US$607 million, it was the largest IPO in the country in 2025 and the second-largest IPO ever in the Philippines; Milbank advised on the largest IPO in the Philippines, in 2021. The Milbank team was led by Hong Kong Managing Partner James Grandolfo, with associates York Wu and Julo Lim.
