Milbank Advises on $610.5M Refinancing for GIP’s JV Renewable Energy Portfolio in Chile

Milbank LLP represented the purchasers and issuing banks in connection with the $610.5 million refinancing of a large portfolio of wind, solar and hydro-powered energy projects in Chile for an affiliate of Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP).

The refinancing consisted of $580 million in senior secured notes and a senior secured letter of credit facility. The portfolio comprises five wind farms with approximately 434 MW of installed capacity and four solar photovoltaic plants with co-located battery energy storage systems, totaling approximately 648 MW of solar generation capacity and approximately 485 MW of battery storage capacity.
