Project Finance Partner Allan Marks Spoke on “Powering a Greener Future: University Energy Management Projects” Panel at the P3 Higher Education Summit

Milbank Global Project, Energy and Infrastructure Finance partner Allan Marks spoke on a panel titled the “Powering a Greener Future: University Energy Management Projects” at the virtual P3 Higher Education Summit on October 29, 2020.

Allan and the other speakers on the panel – from Meridiam, Goldman Sachs, Engie North America, Fitch Ratings and The Ohio State University – explored the following topics:

  • Using public-private partnerships to meet sustainability and reliability goals
  • Tackling deferred maintenance through private procurement of campus heating, cooling and power systems
  • The role of innovation in the energy transition for universities and colleges
  • Key considerations for owners in undertaking new energy infrastructure projects
  • Pros and cons of different project structures and procurement types
  • Impact of the coronavirus and outlook for the sector
     

The virtual summit is taking place from October 28 through October 30, 2020. Over 1,000 higher education and industry leaders will address the challenges facing higher education institutions and examine ways to upgrade existing facilities, deliver major new expansions, and consider P3s and alternative delivery models as an opportunity to facilitate growth.
