Milbank Earns Top Score in Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index

The Human Rights Campaign Foundation named Milbank LLP an “Equality 100 Award: Leader in LGBTQ+ Inclusion” recipient in its 2023–2024 Corporate Equality Index (“CEI”), the national benchmarking tool on corporate policies, practices and benefits related to LGBTQ+ workplace equality. Milbank earned a score of 100.

The 21st edition of the CEI evaluated over 1,300 businesses on four rating criteria, including non-discrimination policies, equitable benefits, support for an inclusive culture and corporate social responsibility.  Businesses like Milbank that earned high rankings took concrete steps to ensure equity for LGBTQ+ workers and their families.

Milbank’s support for its LGBTQ+ employees is deeply embedded in the firm’s history, culture, and policies. The firm was one of the first major law firms in New York City to offer health care benefits to same sex partners. The firm’s Pride affinity group coordinates events and initiatives that foster community and promote connection and belonging for LGBTQ+ attorneys at the firm.
