Milbank LLP is pleased to announce that Litigation & Arbitration Group associate Gary A. Crosby II has been named to The National Black Lawyers’ Top 40 Under 40 list. This list recognizes a select group of distinguished attorneys from each state who possess an outstanding reputation among their peers, the judiciary and the public, exhibit leadership skills and have accomplished notable achievements, settlements and verdicts.
The National Black Lawyers is an invitation-only professional organization that celebrates legal excellence by promoting attorneys as subject-matter experts, developing a strong national network of top African American attorneys and providing professional development resources to enable members to maintain their status as industry leaders. Membership is based on nominations from leading lawyers, current members and the organization’s Executive Committee.
Mr. Crosby is based in Milbank’s New York office and primarily focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation matters, including class actions and securities litigation. He represents clients at the trial and appellate levels in federal and state courts. He also maintains an active pro bono practice and has worked on significant education and voting rights cases with the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund (LDF) as well as criminal and immigration reform cases. Mr. Crosby is a member of Milbank’s aADAM affinity group for Black attorneys. He clerked for the Honorable Emmet G. Sullivan of the US District Court for the District of Columbia.
Mr. Crosby earned his J.D., cum laude, from Tulane University Law School, his master’s degree with Merit from the London School of Economics, and his bachelor’s degree with honors from Birmingham-Southern College. Prior to law school, he served as a social studies teacher through Teach For America and a White House intern.
