As part of the firm’s ongoing commitment to diversity, Milbank LLP is proud to announce the appointment of Mikeisha Anderson Jones, Esq. (she/her) as the firm’s first global Chief Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Officer.
In this newly created role, Ms. Anderson Jones will lead the firm’s global DEI strategy working closely with offices across the Americas, Europe and Asia on the unique challenges and opportunities in each region.

Ms. Anderson Jones joins Milbank with over 20 years of experience as a DEI leader, lawyer, and business executive. Most recently, she served as Vice President of Global Inclusion & Diversity at American Express. There, she collaborated across the organization to develop best-in-class inclusion practices and grow representation and engagement of underutilized/underrepresented groups. Previously, she served as Vice President of Global Contracts, Legal, and Proposal Strategy. Earlier in her career, Ms. Anderson Jones held increasingly advanced general counsel roles in-house, and was a law firm associate and judicial clerk.
Ms. Anderson Jones shared: “I am delighted to join Milbank as its first Chief DEI Officer, particularly during such a pivotal time for all of us. In this role, I have the opportunity to evolve the firm’s commitment to excellence both internally by elevating Milbank’s culture of equity and inclusion, and externally by positioning the firm as a leader, partner, and visionary in the DEI space.”
Ms. Anderson Jones received her J.D. from Rutgers University School of Law and her A.B. from Smith College. She is a Trustee of the New Jersey State Bar Foundation. Ms. Anderson Jones is a frequent speaker on career development and inclusion and has received accolades for her professional accomplishments including as Women of Color Magazine's Women in Finance Diversity Champion, Face2Face Africa's 30 Black Stars, and the National Diversity Council's Top 100 Diversity Officers.
