Milbank’s Global Project, Energy and Infrastructure Finance partner John Dewar and senior associate Munib Hussain have recently acted as editors for Edition 2 of The Islamic Finance and Markets Review alongside authoring the UK chapter. The e-book, published by The Law Reviews, acts as an essential information tool for practitioners, in-house counsel, governments and corporate officers. Chapters describe the manner in which Islamic, or shariah-compliant, finance is practised in various jurisdictions throughout the world and combines input from today’s leading international Islamic finance experts on 11 different jurisdictions.

John Dewar and Munib Hussain’s chapter covers six hot topics specific to the UK, including the extent and development of Islamic finance, specific policies of legislative and regulatory oversight, common structures, insolvency structures, judicial frameworks, the UK’s outlook on Islamic finance and comments on the latest trends in this jurisdiction.
