Milbank LLP advised leading integrated aircraft lessor Goshawk Aviation Ltd. (“Goshawk”) in its acquisition of SKY Leasing’s Irish subsidiary, adding 51 aircraft to Goshawk’s fleet and inflating its portfolio to $11.1 billion. The transaction closed on September 13 and places Goshawk in the top 10 aircraft lessors globally with a total of 222 aircraft.
Goshawk’s acquisition expanded its reach of lessees to six new countries, bringing the total to 33. The transaction also brings the total number of lessees to 64 with 17 new lessees. Goshawk’s portfolio now comprises of 77% Narrowbodies, which have an average lease term of 7.7 years and an average age of 3.0 years.
