Senior Manager of Financial Operations

Office: New York

FLSA Status: Exempt

Hours: Monday-Friday, 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

The Senior Manager of Financial Operations will work closely with the Chief Financial Officer on a variety of financial management issues such as:

  • Partner compensation
  • Tax and retirement
  • Firm capitalization and financing
  • Long-term projections
  • Firm insurance (excluding professional and management liability) program
  • Thorough review of accounting policies and practices to conform to best practices in the industry
  • Variety of other financial management initiatives
  • Other responsibilities as they may be assigned from time to time

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
  • Graduate Degree in Finance or Accounting related subject required
  • Certified Public Accountant
  • Seven to ten years of progressive experience in professional services firms with hands-on experience in general accounting; cash versus accrual basis accounting; partnership matters such as compensation, tax and retirement plans; expatriate arrangements; international tax matters; transfer pricing; self-insured benefit plans and similar financial management topics.

Qualifications:

  • Ideal candidate should demonstrate high energy, hands-on management style and an outstanding ability to communicate with upper management in non-technical terms.
  • The person should be a team-player, self-starter and able to anticipate problems and offer practical solutions.
  • Must be available to report to work on regularly scheduled days and at the scheduled hour.
