As a partner in the firm’s Global Project, Energy and Infrastructure Finance Group, Mr. Elraheb specializes in renewable energy project finance, with an emphasis on United States federal income taxation matters. 

Primary Focus & Experience

Mr. Elraheb’s recent transactions include the representation of:

  • Bank of America, GE, Goldman Sachs and HSBC in the approximately $900 million tax equity financing of a 1,050 MW wind project in New Mexico.
  • JPMorgan Chase in connection with a $600 million tax equity financing for a 250 MW solar PV generating facility in Texas and a 300 MW PV generating facility with a co-located 1,200 MWh battery storage system in Arizona.
  • Two tax equity investors in the financing of the first repowered wind project to claim the domestic content PTC bonus under the safe harbor provided by the IRS.
  • A Fortune 500 corporation in the purchase of $150 million of PTCs from seven nuclear facilities located in the Southeastern United States.
  • Lenders in connection with a $2.5 billion term loan financing of a 3,500 MW wind project in New Mexico.
  • A tax equity investor in the $650 million sale of its entire tax equity portfolio.

Recognition & Accomplishments

Mr. Elraheb received the Gregory W. Goff Award for highest achievement in the tax law curriculum at Loyola Law School. He also externed at the Office of Chief Counsel for the Internal Revenue Service. Mr. Elraheb has been a certified public accountant (currently inactive) in California since 2007.
