Milbank Partners Recognized as 2019 IP Stars by Managing Intellectual Property

Milbank has been named as one of Managing Intellectual Property’s IP Stars for 2019. For “Patent Contentious” matters, Milbank is recognized as a Notable Firm in the United States that is also separately Recommended in New York.

Additionally, four Milbank attorneys were individually recognized as Stars in various categories: 

  • Chris Gaspar was recognized in New York as a Patent Star and Trade Mark Star. Mr. Gaspar’s technology litigation and trial practice spans all levels of state and federal courts, international arbitration, and the US International Trade Commission. He serves as lead counsel and trial advocate for the world’s largest and leading technology companies, who call upon Milbank for advice on their most complex litigation matters. He regularly advises on technologies and products in the biotechnology, electrical, semiconductor, computer, financial-services, and medical-device fields.
  • Mark Scarsi was recognized in California as a Patent Star and Trade Mark Star. Mr. Scarsi has led high profile trial victories on behalf of some of the most preeminent technology companies. He has a strong background in computer software and related technology and worked for seven years as a software engineer prior to becoming a lawyer. He is also an accomplished appellate advocate with a perfect record in the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals.
  • Errol Taylor was recognized in New York as a Patent Star. Mr. Taylor represents research pharmaceutical, biotechnology and chemical companies in patent litigation, appeals and related counseling. He was a biologist who worked in pharmaceutical research before becoming a lawyer. He has over 25 years of experience advising companies in complex patent issues and has been recognized as one of the world’s leading pharmaceutical attorneys. He has served as lead trial and appellate counsel in numerous multi-party, multinational cases for leading biopharmaceutical companies involving some of the world’s most prescribed medicines.
  • Nathaniel Browand was recognized in the United States as a Rising Star. Mr. Browand concentrates his practice on intellectual property law, with particular emphases in intellectual property litigation, transactional work, and counseling. He has extensive experience litigating all phases of patent and other intellectual property cases before US district courts and the International Trade Commission. He also serves as lead counsel in inter partes review and post grant review proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB). He often represents clients in an array of complex technologies, including computer software, telecommunications, networking, semiconductors, image processing, and chemical manufacturing processes.
