The Chambers USA Awards for Excellence honor the most preeminent law firms and attorneys in key practice areas based on the research conducted by Chambers and Partners for each edition of Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business. The awards reflect notable achievements over the past 12 months including outstanding work, impressive strategic growth and excellence in client service.

Milbank has been shortlisted in the following categories for the 2019 edition:

  • Bankruptcy (team nomination): This is the second year in a row that Milbank’s Financial Restructuring group has been nominated in this category. The group is known globally for prominent corporate restructurings and complex chapter 11 cases. Milbank was recently selected as legal counsel to the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors in the PG&E bankruptcy, one of the most widely anticipated chapter 11 cases of the year. Milbank was also recently selected as legal counsel to the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors in the chapter 11 cases of PHI, Inc., a global helicopter transportation provider. Milbank made history this year on behalf of First Lien Lenders in the record-setting bankruptcy case of FullBeauty Brands Holdings Corp., and then once again in its representation of First Lien Noteholders in the record-breaking restructuring of Jones Energy, Inc. Milbank also represents children’s clothing retailer Gymboree in connection with its chapter 11 cases.
  • Banking & Finance (team nomination): The attorneys in Milbank’s Global Leveraged Finance group have an immense depth and background in financing and bank regulation. The team continues to be considered a top legal advisor to lead arrangers, direct lenders, strategic investors, borrowers and other financial institutions for leveraged loans across a range of transactions spanning various industries and in many cases with multi-jurisdictional features. The group has had a very successful and busy year, from advising on multi-currency credit facilities for global businesses, to working on challenging, cross-border acquisitions. Recently, the group advised on the milestone cross-border financings to support the take-private acquisitions of AkzoNobel Specialty Chemicals and for Inmarsat plc, as well as buyouts of Aptean, Inc., StandardAero, Sabre Industries and ZoomInfo and preferred equity investments in Acrisure, among many others.

The Chambers USA Awards ceremony and dinner will be held in New York on June 19.
