Milbank was invited as co-host of Morgan Stanley’s Latin America Capital Markets and Derivatives Seminar, held November 6-8, 2019 at Faena Hotel in Miami Beach. The conference was designed to educate a select group of companies, each of them leading players in the respective industries, about the international bond markets. The conference covered various topics, including the bond issuance process for first time issuers, frequent issuers and alternative funding sources in volatile markets.
Marcelo Mottesi, head of Milbank’s Global Capital Markets practice and co-head of the firm’s Latin America Group spoke on a panel titled “Navigating the Changing Regulations: First Time Issuers – What it takes?” Global Capital Markets partner Tobias Stirnberg spoke on a panel titled “Re-Profiling Liabilities: Recent Tricks and Trends” and partner Fabiana Sakai spoke on a panel titled “Navigating the Changing Regulations: What has changed?” Global Project, Energy and Infrastructure Finance partner Jaime Ramirez also spoke on “Structured Lending: Alternative Funding Sources in Volatile Markets.” David Roberts, Distinguished Faculty member at Singularity University, served as the keynote speaker.
