Milbank Advises Ardian on Acquisition of Majority Stake in Munich Electrification

Milbank LLP advised Ardian on the acquisition of a majority stake in Munich Electrification from its founders. Munich Electrification’s management team will invest significantly alongside Ardian, while the founders will retain a minority stake in the company. The partnership positions Munich Electrification for accelerated growth across existing and adjacent market opportunities, including its expansion into new geographies.

Founded in Munich in 2014, Munich Electrification is a globally leading independent battery technology company, providing battery management systems, sensor technology and software for electric mobility and battery energy storage systems. With development, engineering and manufacturing capabilities in Europe, Munich Electrification is well positioned as an integral part in the ongoing energy transition while supporting European technological sovereignty.

Ardian is a leading global private markets investment firm, managing or advising on $200 billion in assets for more than 1,920 clients worldwide. The firm invests across private equity, real assets and credit, supported by more than 350 investment professionals across 22 offices globally.

The parties have agreed not to disclose the financial terms of this transaction.
