Milbank LLP is pleased to announce that Kristin L. Yohannan has joined the firm’s Washington, DC office as a Special Counsel in the Litigation Department. Yohannan is an experienced intellectual property trial attorney and appellate advocate with deep experience in trying cases before the federal district courts and the US International Trade Commission (ITC).
Yohannan has more than two decades of experience in this highly complex and business-critical area of litigation for companies at both the trial and appellate levels, including complex litigation matters. Her industry experience is broad and includes deep market knowledge in medical devices, pharmaceutical, chemical, technology, biotechnology, semiconductor and software sectors, among others. Yohannan has been involved in 8 ITC Section 337 investigations – including 5 trials and she has argued 16 cases before the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.

Yohannan joins Milbank from Cadwalader in Washington, DC. Previously, she served as an Associate Solicitor in the Office of General Counsel for the United States Patent and Trademark Office and served as Law Clerk to the Honorable Pauline Newman in the US Court of Appeals, Federal Circuit. She received her J.D. in 1994 from George Washington University School of Law, an M.S. in Molecular Genetics in 1991 from University of Connecticut and a B.S. in Chemistry and Biology in 1989 from Lafayette College. She is a member of the Board of Governance for the Federal Circuit Bar Association. She currently serves as an editor for the Federal Circuit Bar Association Journal and is the co-chair of the Veteran’s Pro Bono Committee of the Federal Circuit Bar Association.
