Milbank LLP is pleased to announce the expansion of the firm’s Global Capital Markets team with the addition of highly respected capital markets attorney David Dixter. Mr. Dixter has joined the firm’s London office as a partner in the European Leveraged Finance and Capital Markets Group.

Over his nearly two-decade career, Mr. Dixter has built a diversified capital markets practice that covers an array of products and jurisdictions, including equity and debt capital markets, liability management transactions, and securities law and corporate governance advisory matters. He regularly advises issuers and underwriters, including investment banks, corporates and private equity sponsors on a wide variety of corporate finance transactions across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

“We are delighted to welcome an attorney of David’s caliber to our London office,” said Milbank Chairman Scott A. In particular, David’s addition will add to our capabilities and experience in the Nordic region and South Africa.”

Marcelo Mottesi, Global Head of Milbank’s Global Capital Markets Group, said: “David is highly respected for his experience advising leading financial institutions and corporations in EMEA on a wide range of capital markets transactions. He will bring invaluable market knowledge to the role and we are thrilled to have him join our team.”

We look forward to bringing him on board.”

Mr. Dixter joins Milbank from Shearman & Sterling, where he was the firm’s EMEA Capital Markets Team Leader and oversaw the practice group’s regional strategy. Chambers UK has ranked Mr. Dixter as a Notable Practitioner, and the Legal 500 UK has named him a Leading Individual, referring to him as a “highly user-friendly, commercial” leader who is “always very involved.” Mr. Dixter started his career at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton, working in the firm’s New York and London offices. He received his BCL and LLB degrees from McGill University’s Faculty of Law in Canada at the top of his class.

“Milbank has an outstanding reputation in corporate and finance work and a highly integrated platform,” Mr. Dixter said. “I look forward to leveraging this global platform to deliver market-leading, comprehensive legal service to clients throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa.”
