Milbank LLP’s Global Antitrust and FDI partners have contributed to the 14th edition of The Merger Control Review published by The Law Reviews. Munich partner Alexander Rinne has authored the Germany chapter, and London partners Andrea Hamilton and Ajal Notowicz have authored the United Kingdom chapter in the new edition released in August 2023.

The Merger Control Review provides an incisive overview and analysis of the pre-merger competition and notification regimes across 25 key jurisdictions worldwide, as well as a discussion of recent decisions, strategic considerations and likely upcoming developments. At a potentially transformational point in competition policy enforcement and given the ability of most competition agencies with pre-merger notification laws to delay, and even block, a transaction, it is imperative for both legal and business teams to understand the requirements of each jurisdiction involved in a transaction.

Alexander Rinne heads the European antitrust practice. He specializes in merger control procedures as well as cartel investigations and dominance cases before the relevant antitrust authorities. He also has extensive experience in antitrust litigation before German and European courts.

Andrea Hamilton represents companies before the UK Competition and Markets Authority and the European Commission in merger control reviews and antitrust investigations. She also advises clients in UK investment control reviews, antitrust litigation and on strategic antitrust matters and compliance.

Ajal Notowicz advises clients on UK, EU and multinational antitrust notifications, competition law compliance and FDI matters. He represents private equity firms and industrial clients in global antitrust and FDI approval proceedings across a wide range of sectors.
