Summer Associates on Milbank
Summer Program
What Our Summer Associates Have to Say About Their Milbank Experience
“Working at Milbank this summer was truly a great experience. My most memorable assignment was attending a week-long trial in the Delaware Court of Chancery. While in the “war room” with the rest of the trial team, I was able to see first hand how partners and senior associates prepare expert witnesses, strategize and rehearse their arguments. An aspiring litigator could not ask for a better summer experience.”
“Milbank’s participation in the pro bono Courtroom Advocacy Project allowed me to help victims of domestic violence obtain an initial order of protection. I was able to have an immediate impact by interviewing the domestic violence victim, and translating that interview into a typed petition to the Family Court. Finally, I accompanied the client, a victim of domestic violence, into Family Court to help her navigate the process and to ensure she received the relief we had requested. In one day, I met the client, wrote a petition, appeared in Family Court, and obtained an order of protection that would help her and her young child remain safe from further abuse.”
“There is great collegiality among the members of the firm which extends to the summer associates. There was always someone looking out for my best interests, whether it was a partner or associate involving me in a complex deal, mentoring me, or the recruiting team organizing great events from breakfasts, to lunches, to parties and a tour of the New York Stock Exchange. A remarkable part of the summer program has been the involvement of former Milbank attorneys, who have moved on to impressive careers at places such as the SEC and the NYSE, but who retain strong connections to the firm and have been so willing to share their time and experiences with the summer class.”
