Séverine Losembe is a partner in the New York office of Milbank  and a member of the firm’s Global Project, Energy and Infrastructure Finance Group.

Primary Focus & Experience 

Ms. Losembe’s experience includes the representation of financial institutions and project sponsors in a range of domestic and cross-border project and structured financings, with a focus in the power (renewable/conventional), infrastructure, mining and oil and gas sectors.

Her recent experience includes:

  • power financings including the financing of the acquisition by Stonepeak of a 50% interest in the Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind project; the acquisition by Blackstone Energy Transition Partners of the Potomac Energy Center; a portfolio of construction projects for Sol System; Kindle Energy’s 700MW Magnolia gas-fired power plant with hydrogen capability and Brookfield Renewable’s 872MW portfolio of hydroelectric facilities in New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland and West Virginia.
  • oil & gas transactions including financings for the construction of the DRU/Port Arthur terminal; equity investments in the Port Arthur LNG Project; equity investments in Sempra Infrastructure Partners and the acquisition by Energos Infrastructure of two FSRUs chartered to Germany from affiliates of Dynagas.
  • mining transactions including the representation of IFC, EDC and the commercial banks in connection with the $300 million project financing of Kinross’ gold mine in Mauritania (named 2020 “African Mining Deal of the Year” by IJGlobal) and K-Exim, K-sure and the commercial lenders in the $2.1 billion long-term financing of the Companhia Siderúrgica do Pecém steel mill in Brazil.
  • infrastructure projects including the representation of lenders in the construction debt financing of the $9.5 billion New Terminal One at John F. Kennedy Airport in New York (named 2022 “Americas P3 Deal of the Year” by PFI) and Global Container Terminals in financings for its GCT Deltaport and GCT Vanterm container terminals.

Recognition & Accomplishments

Ms. Losembe earned her J.D. from Fordham Law School, cum laude. She received a B.A. from Barnard College, Columbia University.
