Kamel Aitelaj is an associate in the Washington, DC office of Milbank and a member of the firm’s Litigation & Arbitration Group.
Primary Focus & ExperienceKamel’s practice focuses on complex international arbitration and litigation, as well as issues of public international law. Kamel represents clients in a wide range of proceedings, including investor-state and commercial disputes conducted under UNCITRAL, ICSID, ICC, ICDR and LCIA arbitration rules as well as ad hoc arbitral proceedings. Kamel also has substantial experience in matters involving sovereign immunity, act of state, and award enforcement.
He has acted for sovereign states, satellite operators, financial institutions, private equity firms, insurers/reinsurers, biosciences companies, oil and gas companies, mining developers, and renewable energy companies.
Kamel is a native French speaker. He is proficient in Portuguese and Spanish.
