Carlos T. Albarracín, a partner in Milbank's Global Securities Group and Latin America Practice Group, will speak on the panel titled "Financing Energy and Infrastructure Projects in Latin America: Key Considerations and a View to the Future" at IBA's Latin American Regional Forum Conference on March 11, 2016 in Rio de Janeiro. The panel will discuss how the construction of new infrastructure and the modernization of existing infrastructure is critical for the development of Latin America and the improvement of the quality of life of its people. The panel will explore major issues and new developments in the project finance market in Latin America, including current lending and capital markets trends, the challenges of new regulatory regimes like the ones being implemented in Mexico and Colombia, the role of governmental entities such as BNDES, and the impact that troublesome political, social and business scenarios bring to this market.
