Milbank LLP Transportation and Space partner Dara Panahy will moderate the panel titled “Broadband Constellations Bridging the Digital Divide” on May 24, 2023 during the LATSAT conference in Buenos Aires, organized by Euroconsult and ARSAT. Mr. Panahy will also deliver a separate keynote overview of current space industry financing considerations on the second day of the conference.
Argentina’s President, Alberto Fernandez, made a special visit on the first day of the conference, providing guests with a surprise keynote. He discussed the importance of the satellite industry for Argentina, Latin American and local industries, and stressed the importance of investing in scientific-technological development, as he was inaugurating the 6th Latin American Aerospace Industry Congress. According to Prensa Latina, President Fernandez “highlighted the progress of a nuclear reactor developed by Argentinian scientists and assured that the country is one of the few in the world to manufacture satellites, putting them into orbit, something unthinkable 20 years ago.”
LATSAT, a gathering of Latin America’s space industry leaders, covers perspectives and insights on the most critical issues facing the space industry. The two-day program includes high-level keynotes and thematic round tables featuring government officials and industry executive speakers from Latin America and the rest of the world.
