The Office of the Appellate Defender will be holding its annual “First Monday in October” fundraiser on October 5, 2016 at New York University School of Law. The event, which will be taking place on a Wednesday this year, will consist of a mock supreme court argument following a gala cocktail reception. Former Chief Judge Jonathan Lippman will lead the First Monday bench, and Milbank Litigation partner Antonia Apps will serve as one of the Associate Justices. They will argue the hypothetical case Apple, Inc. v. F.B.I., in a debate highlighting the desire for individual privacy and the needs of law enforcement in a digital age.
