Milbank Elects Five New Partners

Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP is pleased to announce that five attorneys have been elected to the firm’s partnership, effective January 1, 2016. The new partner group spans across transactional, litigation and regulatory practices.

“These colleagues are an outstanding group of lawyers committed to providing clients with innovative business solutions to solve complex legal challenges,” said Milbank Chairman Scott Edelman.

The new Milbank partners are:

John A. Goldfinch, a member of the Alternative Investments Group, is based in London. Mr. Goldfinch has a broad structured finance, securitization and transactional derivatives practice covering the full spectrum of products. In particular John and practice group head James Warbey, are recognized as having one of the leading loan securitization (CLO) practices in the European market and are continually at the forefront of regulatory developments in the area. He earned his law degree at Oxford University.

Scott W. Golenbock, a member of the Corporate Group, is based in New York. Mr. Golenbock’s practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions and corporate and securities law. He advises clients on hostile acquisitions, cross-border transactions, divestitures, joint ventures, spin-offs, corporate restructurings, and corporate governance matters. His experience spans many industries, including: hospitality, gaming, retail, energy, financial services and technology. He earned his J.D. from Yale Law School and his A.B. from Princeton University.

Sarah K. Griffin, a member of the Leveraged Finance Group, is based in New York. Advising banks and other financial institutions, Ms. Griffin’s practice is focused on a broad range of senior lending transactions, including acquisition financings, recapitalizations, debtor-in-possession, and corporate financings. She received her J.D. from Columbia Law School, LL.M. from London School of Economics, and B.A. from Georgetown University.

Benjamin J. Miles, a member of the Securities Group, is based in New York. Mr. Miles’s practice centers on representing investment banks and other financial institutions in securities and leveraged finance transactions. He has broad depth of experience representing underwriters and initial purchasers in public and private high yield bond offerings, investment grade offerings, equity offerings, and other securities transactions. He received his J.D. from New York University School of Law and his B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania.

Jed M. Schwartz, a member of the Litigation & Arbitration Group, is based in New York. Mr. Schwartz represents clients in complex disputes throughout the United States and beyond. His representations also span a number of industries, including financial services, hospitality, and real estate. Mr. Schwartz also represents clients in internal investigations and external investigations, including investigations conducted by regulatory authorities. He earned his J.D. from Fordham Law School and his B.A. from Trinity College.
