Milbank Awarded “Aviation Firm of the Year” and “European Debt Deal of the Year” by Global Transport Finance 2013

LONDON, November 26, 2013 – Milbank’s Transportation & Space team received top honors, “Aviation Firm of the Year”, at the Global Transport Finance Awards 2013 gala in London. The team also won “European Aircraft Debt Deal of the Year” for their work on the first-ever non-U.S. EETC transaction by British Airways. The team, led by James Cameron, head of the London Transportation & Space Group, represented Citibank as the lead structuring agent for a group of international banks backing British Airways’ offering.

The team also acted on three other award—winning transactions which included: Virgin Australia’s $797 million EETC issue, their first international debt offering (“Aircraft Debt Deal of the Year—Asia Pacific”); GE Capital Aviation Services sale of 26 aircraft to AABS (“Aircraft Lessor Finance Deal of the Year”); and, Air Canada’s $714 million EETC issue (“Aircraft Finance Debt Deal of the Year—North America”).
