Milbank Advises Honiton Energy on Sale of Wind Farm Assets in China

Renewables asset sale in Inner Mongolia highlights range of Milbank’s Asia-based corporate and energy work; transaction team led by Singapore partner Jacqueline Chan

SINGAPORE, June 10, 2015 – Reflecting the breadth of its corporate and energy practices in Asia, Milbank advised the owner and operator of wind farms in China’s Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region on the competitive auction sale of renewable energy assets.

A Milbank team led by Singapore-based partner Jacqueline Chan represented Honiton Energy Caymans Limited, whose portfolio of wind farms is located in the northern China region and the independent nation of Mongolia. The portfolio was sold to Terraform Inc., a subsidiary of SunEdison, in a highly negotiated and complex sale and purchase transaction. Associates Cristy Cross and Martin Wong in the Singapore office were key to the transaction, as were New York-based partners Jane Morgan, Evan Fleck, Mark Stamp and London-based associate Merih Altay and New York-based associate Aaron Stine.
