Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP’s Global Project Finance group has been recognised by Project Finance International (PFI) for five separate transactions at the PFI Awards Dinner held in London last night. The awards dinner gathered the most senior and successful market professionals to celebrate industry excellence.
The firm acted as counsel in the following key transactions in 2015:
- Americas Power Deal of the Year: Salem Harbor
Milbank represented Toyota Tsusho Power USA, Inc. as co-developer and equity investor in the US$730 million financing for the Footprint Salem Harbor Power Station, which entails the development of a 700 MW state-of-the-art combined-cycle gas electric generating facility. - Asia-Pacific Mining Deal of the Year: Oyu Tolgoi
Milbank represented the lenders, including the multilateral agencies, the export credit agencies and a syndicate of commercial banks in connection with the US$4.4 billion financing for the Oyu Tolgoi Project. - Europe M&A Deal of the Year: Fortum Sweden
Milbank represented the Mandated Lead Arrangers on the financing for the €6.6 billion acquisition of Fortum Distribution AB by the Borealis Consortium. - LatAm Renewables Deal of the Year: Conejo Solar
Milbank represented the banks providing approximately US$205 million to finance the Conejo Solar photovoltaic power project that Pattern Energy Group LP is developing in the Atacama Desert, located in the Antofagasta region of Chile, 250 miles north of Santiago. - Middle East and Africa Petrochemical of the Year: PetroRabigh
Milbank represented the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (“JBIC”), Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (“PIF”) and various commercial banks/Islamic financial institutions on the US$5.2 billion expansion financing for the PetroRabigh Refining and Petrochemicals Project in Saudi Arabia.
