Mark Scarsi, co-managing partner of Milbank’s Los Angeles office and head of the firm’s Intellectual Property Litigation & Technology practice, has been recognized as one of the Most Influential IP Attorneys in Los Angeles County in 2017 by the Los Angeles Business Journal. The list features 30 of the top intellectual property attorneys in the area.
As an accomplished litigator with a strong background in computer software and related technology, Mr. Scarsi has an impressive track record of litigating intellectual property cases in district courts around the country as well as before the International Trade Commission. He frequently writes and lectures on intellectual property issues. Mr. Scarsi has been recognized for his work in the area of intellectual property litigation, including two recent awards for obtaining complete defense verdicts on behalf of a preeminent technology company.
Mr. Scarsi’s work includes defending companies in patent infringement actions relating to a variety of computer related technologies, and representing patent holders in infringement actions relating to a variety of technologies, representing complainants and respondents in Section 337 investigations before the US ITC, defending software development organizations in contract actions relating to enterprise software systems, and counseling clients on software licensing and patent related matters.
