Milbank Partners in Asia-Pacific, Europe and US Regions Named to IFLR1000 Women Leaders List

Milbank LLP is pleased to announce that Capital Markets partner Naomi Ishikawa, European Leveraged Finance/Capital Markets partner Rebecca Marques, Banking and Leveraged Finance partner Barbara Mayer-Trautmann, Financial Restructuring partner Karen McMaster and Project, Energy and Infrastructure Finance partner Carolina Walther-Meade were recognized on the 2021 IFLR1000 Women Leaders list as leading transactional experts. Ms. Walther-Meade and Ms. Ishikawa have been named to the list every year since the award was established in 2018.

Honorees have impressive track records and are consistently recommended by clients and peers for the quality of their advice and dedication to client service. Ms. Ishikawa is a partner in Milbank’s Singapore office, a member of the firm’s Global Capital Markets Group and one of the most widely respected corporate finance practitioners in Southeast Asia. Her practice focuses on cross-border transactions including equity offerings and privatizations, high-yield offerings and liability management transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and private equity investments throughout Southeast Asia and South Asia. Ms. Ishikawa is ranked Band 1 by Chambers Global and Chambers Asia Pacific and recognized as a Leading Individual by Legal 500 Asia Pacific for her work in capital markets in Singapore.

 

Rebecca Marques is a partner in the firm’s European Leveraged Finance and Capital Markets group in London. Rebecca focuses on advising underwriters, issuers and sponsors on a range of complex financings in Europe, the United States and internationally, including leveraged buyouts, and in a wide variety of international securities transactions. Her practice and experience is broad, covering high yield debt offerings for leveraged buyouts and corporates, international capital markets transactions in general, liability management exercises and restructurings.

 

Ms. Mayer-Trautmann is a partner in Milbank’s Munich office and a member of the firm’s Banking and Leveraged Finance Group. She specializes in leveraged finance, infrastructure finance, corporate investment grade and sub-investment grade lending, and advises sponsors and corporate borrowers as well as direct lenders on all aspects of acquisition finance, infrastructure finance, syndicated lending and financial restructuring. She is listed in JUVE as a “Leading Name in Bank Lending and Acquisition Finance” as well as in Chambers Europe and Chambers Global as a top practitioner in Banking and Finance. Recently, she was named one of the 100 most influential women in Germany in the German business daily Handelsblatt.

 

Ms. McMaster is a partner in Milbank’s London office and a member of the firm’s Financial Restructuring group who assists buy-side and distressed investors structure, negotiate and implement investments in distressed, stressed or special situation credits. She has experience in all aspects of debt restructuring and reorganization and in helping creditors navigate various insolvency and reorganization processes.

 

Ms. Walther-Meade is a partner in Milbank’s New York office and a member of the firm’s Global Project, Energy and Infrastructure Finance and Latin America Groups. She has extensive experience in cross-border financings and international project finance and development, with an emphasis on oil and gas, infrastructure, mining and energy projects throughout Latin America. She has also been involved in numerous multi-jurisdictional acquisition financings and structured financings in the region, for which IJGlobal recognized Milbank as “Latin America Legal Advisor of the Year” in 2020.
