Milbank Antitrust Partners to Speak at the 2024 Antitrust Spring Meeting

Milbank LLP Antitrust partners Fiona Schaeffer, Adam Di Vincenzo and Grant Bermann will speak at the upcoming 2024 Antitrust Spring Meeting, hosted by the American Bar Association’s Antitrust Law Section. It will take place in Washington, DC from April 10 – 12, 2024.

Ms. Schaeffer will moderate two panels at the Spring meeting. On April 11, she will moderate “Hope or Horror: The Big AI Debate,” a panel about artificial intelligence and antitrust law. On April 12, along with Jillian Charles (Vice President & General Counsel, Honeywell), she will moderate the “Enforcers Roundtable,” a conversation with some of the world’s leading antitrust enforcers, including Lina Khan (Chair, FTC), Jonathan Kanter (Assistant Attorney General, DOJ), Margrethe Vestager (Executive Vice President and Commissioner, European Commission), Gwendolyn Cooley (Chair, NAAG Multistate Antitrust Task Force), and Andrea Marvan Saltiel (Chair, COFECE). Ms. Schaeffer is a leading antitrust lawyer whose practice spans merger review, government investigations and litigation. She is the current Chair of the Antitrust Law Section.

Mr. Di Vincenzo will moderate the April 10 panel “Do Non-Competes Cause More Harm Than Good?” The panel will focus on the FTC's proposed nationwide ban on non-compete clauses, and its implications for workers and businesses. Mr. Di Vincenzo is a leading antitrust lawyer whose practice focuses on the full range of antitrust matters. He regularly counsels clients on antitrust compliance in connection with commercial arrangements, including M&A, joint ventures, and IP licenses. He advises clients on strategies to mitigate antitrust risk, while achieving business objectives.

Mr. Bermann will moderate the April 10 panel “Airline Mergers: Flying High or Flying Blind?” The panel will focus on the government’s successful challenges to American Airlines/JetBlue and JetBlue/Spirit Airlines, as well as the implications of those cases for future airline transactions. Mr. Bermann is the Co-chair of the Section’s Transportation and Energies Industries Committee. He previously served as a Trial Attorney at the US Department of Justice, where he was a member of the successful litigation teams in both cases.

The Spring Meeting is the largest gathering of antitrust lawyers and economists in the world.
