Primary Focus & Experience

Her practice is focused on a mix of traditional Export Credit Agencies (ECAs) financings and large-scale corporate and financial sponsor representations, particularly in the renewables space and energy/ infrastructure M&A. She advises leading international investors on inbound energy and infrastructure investments in Korea and represents sponsors and ECAs on their largest and most important transactions across Asia and the globe.

Joo Hee's recent representative matters include: 

• BlackRock on its US$860m acquisition of a 30% stake in AirFirst Co., Ltd. from, and joint venture arrangements with, the existing sole shareholder IMM Private Equity. 
• BlackRock on its investments in South Korean solar development and investment company Brite Energy Partners. 
• Synera Renewable Energy on its acquisition of the 840MW Moondo offshore wind project in Korea. 
• An international bidder on its aborted acquisition of Boryeong LNG Terminal in Korea from SK Innovation
• the lenders of Brookfield Asset Management on the refinancing of a portfolio of solar assets (115MW) in South Korea
• the lenders on the US$480m (KRW 615bn) financing of the Jeonnam 1 offshore wind farm project located in South Jeolla Province, South Korea – this is the first internationally sponsored and financed offshore wind project in South Korea.
• Equis on the development and financing of the 534MW Anma offshore wind farm in Korea.
• LG Chem and LG Chem America Advanced Materials on the K-SURE covered financing of the 60KTPA cathode material manufacturing plant in Tennessee, USA.
• KEXIM, K-SURE and banks on the financing of the 35Gwh EV battery manufacturing plant in Georgia, USA, sponsored by Hyundai Motor Group and SK On.
• KEXIM, K-SURE and banks on the financing of the Naphtha Cracker Petrochemical Complex in Indonesia, sponsored by Lotte Chemical.
• the lenders (including K-SURE, other international ECAs and commercial banks) on the closed project financings of Greater Changhua 1, Changfang & Xidao, and Formosa 2 offshore wind projects in Taiwan.
