January Investment Activity

January 6 – HawkEye 360, Inc. received a $5m investment from Leidos, Inc., increasing to $150m the total raised through its previously announced Series D funding round.  

January 11 – Mangata Networks, Inc. raised $33m through its Series A funding round led by Playground Global, with participation from Scottish Enterprise, Promus Ventures and Meta Venture Partners, as well as investors KT Sat Co., Ltd. and Temasek Holdings Limited.

January 14 – Infostellar Inc. received an additional $4.32m in funding from existing shareholder Mitsubishi UFJ Capital Co., Ltd. and several new investors, raising to $10.36m the total funding raised from its previously announced Series B round.  

January 18 – Satellogic Inc. (Satellogic) received a $150m investment from Liberty Strategic Capital (Liberty), a private equity firm founded and managed by former U.S. Secretary of the Treasury Steven Mnuchin, in connection with the company’s SPAC deal and related PIPE transaction, which together produced a total of $262m in funding for Satellogic. Through the investment, Liberty will receive 20m Class A ordinary shares of Satellogic at $7.50 per share, as well as 5m warrants with a strike price of $10 per share and 15m warrants with a strike price of $15 per share, and Mnuchin will join the company’s board of directors as non-executive chairman.
