Milbank LLP Antitrust partner Andrea Hamilton has co-authored and co-edited the Competition Law Treatment of Joint Ventures, which has been published by Concurrences in cooperation with the International Bar Association. The book was launched on 2nd November at the IBA Annual Conference in Miami.
The Mergers Working Group (“MWG”) of the Antitrust Committee of the International Bar Association, of which Andrea is a member, has created the first multi-jurisdictional survey solely focused on the competitional law treatment of joint ventures (JV) across 22 jurisdictions. The publication examines critical issues and questions that businesses and their advisers may encounter when dealing with joint venture transactions in light of merger control and substantive antitrust laws, with the aim to provide an up-to-date and comprehensive overview of the state of the law. The book also contains a practical analysis highlighting key issues in the form of a hypothetical JV transaction developed by the MWG, and a high-level overview of key results compiled by all the editors.
This is the second book Ms. Hamilton has co-edited as a member of the MWG. Gun Jumping In Merger Control: A Jurisdictional Guide, published in 2019. It is a comparative guide concerning gun-jumping across 21 major jurisdictions, encompassing all global regions and both established and emerging merger control systems.
