Milbank LLP is pleased to announce that Alex Anderson has joined its New York office as a partner in the firm’s Tax Group.

Mr. Anderson’s practice is focused on US federal income tax issues in complex, high-profile matters. His practice encompasses debtor- and creditor-side restructurings in and out of chapter 11; debt and equity offerings; secured and unsecured financings; securitizations across asset classes ranging from leased aircraft and engines to music, film, and oil and gas interests; strategic and private equity mergers and acquisitions, including post-acquisition integration planning; alternative investment fund formation; and entertainment, sports and media transactions. Representative engagements include advising term lenders, corporate debtors and investment firms in major chapter 11 proceedings and other restructurings, counseling private equity sponsors on strategic acquisitions and advising on major transactions in the aviation sector.

Mr. Anderson's arrival follows the recent addition of Stuart Alter as a partner in the Tax Group, further underscoring the firm's commitment to deepening its tax capabilities during a period of significant growth.

Mr. Anderson joins Milbank from O'Melveny & Myers LLP, where he most recently served as Chair of the firm's tax practice. He received his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School and his B.A. from Boston College.
