Milbank distinguished alumnus Judge William H. Webster was honored at an inaugural dinner in his name hosted by the International Spy Museum in Washington, DC on November 29. This annual event, The Honorable William H. Webster Distinguished Service Award Dinner, has been established to “honor an individual who has served the nation in the field of National Security with integrity and distinction.” Milbank was a top-level “handler” sponsor of this year’s dinner.

Known for his service in the law and in the nation’s capital, Judge Webster is a former director of the Central Intelligence Agency and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the only individual to have held both positions. Before joining the intelligence community, Judge Webster was a distinguished jurist of the US District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri and of the US Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. He joined Milbank as a partner following his retirement from public service, with a practice focused on arbitration, mediation and internal investigation. He chairs the Homeland Security Advisory Council and is a founding member of the International Spy Museum Advisory Board of Directors.

At the dinner, Judge Webster, along with former president George H.W. Bush, were presented with honors by Central Intelligence Agency Director Michael Pompeo. The event was emceed by news anchor Wolf Blitzer. Also in attendance were Milbank alumni Glenn Gerstell (now General Counsel of the National Security Agency) and Robert J. Koch as well as partners David Cohen, Phillip Fletcher, Jay Grushkin, Dara Panahy, Aaron Renenger and Phillip Spector and associates James Burke and Bijan Ganji.
