James Weingarten, Litigation & Arbitration partner at Milbank LLP, has been selected to serve on the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's expert panel for "The Prompt," an initiative that assembles preeminent antitrust experts to offer timely views on key questions of antitrust law and policy.
The U.S. Chamber's expert group brings together senior enforcers spanning seven administrations, including former agency leaders from both the Antitrust Division at the Department of Justice and the Federal Trade Commission. Collectively, the panel members have decades of experience counseling clients, teaching law and contributing to academic and economic scholarship. Every few weeks, the U.S. Chamber poses a "prompt" to the panel of experts, soliciting open-ended answers or responses in the form of true/false questions on current antitrust issues facing the business community.
James's appointment underscores his leadership in the antitrust field and his standing as a trusted advisor on the legal and policy issues shaping today's competitive landscape. Prior to joining Milbank, James served as Chief Trial Counsel for the FTC, where he litigated and tried some of the government's most significant antitrust matters, including FTC v. Microsoft/Activision, FTC v. AbbVie, Inc., FTC v. Kroger/Albertsons and FTC v. Sanofi/Maze.
