Milbank LLP Transportation and Space and Global Risk & National Security partner Bijan Ganji moderated a panel titled “Space Investment in the Middle East” on January 10, 2024 during Euroconsult’s Middle East Space Conference. Panelists discussed market trends, opportunities and challenges for investment in space ventures in the region. In a recent report detailing expectations for Middle Eastern space economy growth, Euroconsult projected that annual space industry expenditures by the region’s governments will nearly double over the next decade, rising from $1.4 billion in 2023 to $2.7 billion by 2032.
Hosted by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology of Oman and Euroconsult, the conference gathers leading space industry executives, professionals and investors, as well as government officials, to discuss space strategies, financing and more.
Mr. Ganji represents investment banks, private equity firms, commercial banks and various corporate and institutional actors in aerospace, communications and other industries on leveraged, project and vendor financings, public offerings and high yield debt issuances, financial restructurings and reorganizations and general corporate and strategic activities, including commercial contracts, mergers & acquisitions and joint ventures. He also counsels clients on compliance with and risk management in relation to economic sanctions, export controls and anti-corruption laws, among other legal regimes tied to foreign policy and national security interests.
