Milbank LLP’s White Collar Defense and Investigations team has been shortlisted by Global Investigations Review (GIR) in the “Most Impressive Investigations Practice of the Year” category as part of the GIR Awards 2025. The annual award recognizes the law firm that has handled the most consequential case or most complex investigations and resolutions in the last year and has consistently secured good results for clients.
Milbank was recognized for its work advising BAM Trading, the operator of cryptocurrency exchange Binance in the US, in an SEC enforcement action that was dropped in 2025 without further action, as well as its role advising CQC Impact Investors, which avoided criminal charges in the US’s first regulatory enforcement action connected to carbon credit markets.
Milbank Litigation & Arbitration partner Nola Heller, who co-led the CQC representation, was also shortlisted for “Investigations Professional of the Year.” Ms. Heller is the co-head of Milbank’s White Collar and Investigations Group in New York and has nearly 20 years of experience as a former federal prosecutor and defense attorney. She regularly serves as lead counsel on behalf of global financial institutions, multinational companies, boards and individuals in high-stakes investigations and multimillion-dollar criminal and regulatory enforcement matters.
The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on November 13, 2025, in Washington, DC.
