Milbank LLP Litigation & Arbitration partner Gurbir S. Grewal will speak at "The Future of Financial Regulation in a New Presidential Administration," a conference hosted by the University of Chicago Law School on January 24, 2025.
The conference will explore the issues confronting federal financial regulators during the presidential administration transition. Mr. Grewal will speak on the enforcement panel, joined by Eva Ciko Carman (Partner - Ropes & Gray LLP) and Erik Gerding (Professor of Law, UC Boulder, Former Director, SEC Division of Corporation Finance).
Mr. Grewal served for over three years as Director of the Division of Enforcement of the US Securities & Exchange Commission. As SEC Enforcement Director, Mr. Grewal oversaw all investigations, enforcement actions, and litigation conducted by the SEC and supervised a staff of more than 1,300 attorneys and accountants nationwide from 2021 to 2024. During his tenure, the Commission brought over 2,400 enforcement actions, resulting in orders for more than $20 billion in financial remedies.
