Fiona Schaeffer, Antitrust partner at Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP, has been recognized as one of the Global Competition Review’s Women in Antitrust, profiling successful women in the field of competition law.
In its fifth edition, Women in Antitrust recognizes “those who have been at the forefront of competition law in their respective jurisdictions and made groundbreaking contributions to the ever-changing, increasingly globalised competition landscape.”
Ms. Schaeffer was recently appointed as the International Officer of the American Bar Association (ABA) Section of Antitrust Law, the leading professional organization for antitrust and competition law, trade regulation, consumer protection and economics. In this role she is advocating for a balanced and effective competition and consumer protection law and policy in the international arena.
With more than 20 years of experience, Ms. Schaeffer is an international antitrust lawyer with extensive expertise in all aspects of antitrust, including criminal and civil defense, litigation, and merger investigations. She regularly represents clients in FTC and DOJ investigations and follow on class actions in the US and internationally. She also counsels clients on optimizing intellectual property rights and licensing, distribution and marketing practices while minimizing legal risks.
Ms. Schaeffer is recognized as a leading antitrust lawyer by Chambers, Legal 500 and Global Competition Review, among others, and was selected as one of the top 40 competition lawyers under 40 globally in Global Competition Review.
