Milbank LLP has advised FUNKE Mediengruppe on the placement of its first Schuldschein loan. The EUR 100 million Schuldschein issuance comprises both variable and fixed-interest bearing tranches with maturities of three and five years. The Schuldschein loan was arranged by BayernLB, finpair and UniCredit and funded by NORD/LB as first lender.
FUNKE Mediengruppe, headquartered in Essen and employing around 4,800 people, is a leading German media company with a broad portfolio of digital and print businesses.
The Milbank team, which provided comprehensive advice to FUNKE on all aspects of the transaction, was led by partner Thomas Ingenhoven and included special counsel Gerrit Merkel and associate Adrian Müller-Achenbach (all Finance).
