Milbank LLP received top recognition from Latin American Corporate Counsel Association (LACCA) in its “Who Represents Latin America’s Biggest Companies” survey.

LACCA’s annual survey (released on March 5, 2019) examines the relationship between companies with operations or connections to Latin America and the law firms that they work with to help navigate legislative and regulatory developments across the region. LACCA released its new and improved landmark research into which law firms are regularly retained by the region's largest companies. LACCA ranked Milbank as a top International Firm, highlighting the firm’s representation of one-third of the 100 top-earning companies in the region, ranked by 2017 revenue.

New to the Top 100 list this year is Mexico’s state-owned utility company Comisión Federal de Electricidad (CFE), which was ranked as the region’s 14th largest company, exhibiting the importance of energy investments in the region and driving the need for international law firms like Milbank, who serve as a key advisor in high-stakes energy and infrastructure transactions.

Marcelo Mottesi, head of Milbank’s Global Capital Markets practice and co-head of the firm’s Latin America Group said: “We are honored that the biggest companies in Latin America continue to rely on us to navigate the region’s increasingly complex political and legislative landscape and successfully handle their innovative transactions.”

“This recognition from LACCA is a tremendous honor that speaks directly to Milbank’s strong reputation in the Latin American region and our position as one of the top international law firms in Latin America.  We are honored to continue to advise the region’s top companies on market-leading projects across a broad range of industries including power, energy, oil and gas and infrastructure,” added Dan Bartfeld, head of Milbank’s Global Project, Energy & Infrastructure Finance Group, and co-head of the firm’s Latin America Group.
