Milbank LLP Singapore-based partner Jacqueline Chan moderated and presented on two separate panels at the annual Asia-Pacific Satellite Conference & Exhibition held in Seoul. Organized by the Asia-Pacific Satellite Communications Council (APSCC), each year the annual conference brings together leaders from across the space and satellite sectors and value chains to discuss the challenges and opportunities and offer insights into how the industry can respond and grow. The 2022 conference in particular aimed to bring participants up to speed on the incredible changes that have occurred in the industry despite the COVID pandemic.
The panel moderated by Ms. Chan, titled “Space Risk Update: The Impact of Disruptions on the Space Insurance Industry,” discussed developments in risk management practices and options available through the global insurance market. Participants included leading global brokers, insurers and reinsurers Marsh, Beazley and SCOR, as well as Aon International Space Brokers. Ms. Chan also presented a program titled “The Past 12 Months and Looking Forward,” where she provided insights on financial developments in the space and satellite industry, including the rapid rise and fall of SPACs, major consolidation announcements and other changes that may forecast what market participants can expect in the coming year.
Ms. Chan advises on many of the most innovative, cutting-edge M&A and corporate finance transactions in the Asia region, and is regularly recognized as an exceptional leader and dealmaker by key industry publications. Earlier this year she was named among Asia’s Top 15 Female Lawyers for 2022 by Asian Legal Business.
