Jacqueline Chan Appointed to TrustLaw Pro Bono Council

Milbank LLP Singapore partner Jacqueline Chan was recently appointed to the TrustLaw Pro Bono Council. TrustLaw is the Thomson Reuters Foundation’s global pro bono legal service that connects high-impact NGOs and social enterprises working to create social and environmental change with the best law firms and corporate legal teams, to provide them with free legal assistance. The ten-member Pro Bono Counsel advisory body comprises the heads of pro bono services from other leading international law firms and corporations such as Microsoft and Dentsu International, and plays a key role in ensuring that TrustLaw activities reflect and support the needs of the ever-evolving legal pro bono sector.

A dedicated and committed advocate of pro bono activity and an active member of TrustLaw since 2018, Ms. Chan has consistently advised on pro bono matters, including for social justice and equality, environment protection, education, family and community and microfinance matters spanning the globe and with focus on South and Southeast Asia. Notably, Ms. Chan’s work for the Social Enterprise Thailand Association was nominated for a TrustLaw Collaboration Award in 2020.

With over 6,500 members in over 190 countries, TrustLaw is the world’s largest global pro bono network. By facilitating free legal support, TrustLaw seeks to advance media freedom, foster more inclusive economies, and promote human rights.
