Milbank LLP Global Projects, Energy and Infrastructure partner Munib Hussain has been recognized as one of the top project finance attorneys under the age of 40 by leading legal publication Law360 as part of its annual “Rising Stars” series.
Law360’s Rising Stars are attorneys under 40 who have demonstrated outstanding accomplishments in their careers. The publication’s editors select honorees based on each lawyer’s achievements within their respective practice areas.
Mr. Hussain has built an outstanding reputation as an energy and infrastructure finance attorney. He has advised on some of the most innovative and significant ‘market-first’ transactions around the world. He has broad expertise across the energy and infrastructure spectrum of advising sponsors, lenders, private equity funds and sovereigns on international projects, energy and infrastructure projects and acquisition financings. Mr. Hussain is also a member of the firm’s Islamic Finance Business Unit.
His recent achievements include advising the underwriters on a first-of-a-kind US$11.5bn GMTN Programme and an innovative US$1.5bn Sukuk issuance. This representation recently secured two “Deal of the Year” awards at the Bonds, Loans & Sukuk Middle East Awards 2023. Among other representations, Mr. Hussain recently acted for a syndicate of lenders providing administration funding and new money to the new NMC Group structure. He also acted as international counsel to the Senior Creditors on the debt reprofiling of the Sadara Chemical Company.
