Primary Focus & Experience
Tiiu is dual qualified in England & Wales and New York State. Her practice is focused on derivative transactions, with a particular emphasis on various hedging structures (e.g., loan-linked and deal-contingent hedges) and bespoke structured finance arrangements. She also advises on the related UK/EU and US regulatory frameworks (including UK EMIR, EU EMIR and the Dodd-Frank Act). Tiiu has guided clients through recent transformative changes in the financial markets, including LIBOR cessation and implementation of uncleared regulatory margin requirements.
Recognition & Accomplishments
Tiiu completed her training contract at a Magic Circle law firm in London, with experience in real estate finance, derivatives and equity capital markets, including an international secondment to New York. She has completed secondments at two leading US investment banks. Prior to joining Milbank, she worked at another global law firm.
Tiiu is an active memeber of the Women in Financial Markets organization, and participated in the “Emerge” and “Rising Stars” Cohorts of WIFM’s Leadership Program.
Tiiu is fluent in English and Estonian.
