Primary Focus & Experience

Ruairidh advises on a broad range of matters, with a particular focus on acting for lessors, financial institutions and operators on asset leasing, acquisition and financing transactions.

Ruairidh’s experience includes:

• Advising Investec and the other lenders in relation to a US$870 million financing for 11 widebody aircraft. 
• Advising a global aircraft leasing company on two portfolio sales of aircraft to a US‑listed aviation company, comprising a first portfolio of nine aircraft and a second portfolio of six aircraft, each on lease to airlines across multiple jurisdictions, including Southeast Asia, Hong Kong, East Asia, Europe and the US. 
• Advising a global alternative asset manager on the sale of the majority of its aircraft platform assets to an institutional investor, comprising the first portfolio disposal and exit from the client's aviation platforms. 
• Advising a leading Japanese equity underwriter and arranger on numerous Japanese operating lease with call option (JOLCO) structured financings.
