Prithvij Beniwal is an associate in the London office of Milbank LLP and a member of the firm’s European Infrastructure Investor Practice.

Primary Focus & Experience

Prithvij advises both corporate and private equity clients. He has experience on a broad range of transactions with a particular focus on the infrastructure sector.

His experience includes advising:

  • Piraeus Bank on its purchase of Ethniki Insurance (a leading Greek insurer) from CVC and National Bank of Greece. 
  • Macquarie Asset Management on Macquarie European Infrastructure Fund 7’s purchase of a significant minority stake in Virtus Data Centres group from ST Telemedia (a portfolio company of Temasek). The Virtus Data Centres Group builds and operates data centres in England and is expanding into Europe.*
  • Macquarie Green Investment Group Energy Transition Solutions (MGETS) on the establishment of its global battery storage platform, Eku Energy, and related sale by MGETS of a minority interest in Eku Energy to British Columbia Investment Management Corporation.*
  • Macquarie Asset Management on various matters with respect to its investment in Cero Generation Limited, a solar development platform with projects across Europe (including Greece).*
  • Wren House Infrastructure on its acquisition of (a) a minority stake in Zorlu Enerji AS (a Turkish-listed entity) and (b) a majority stake in ZES Dijital AS (an electric vehicle charging business based in Turkey and expanding into Europe).* 
  • Lanes Group Limited (a family-founded and management-owned business providing water and waste water solutions across the UK) on the sale of a majority stake in the Lanes Group to Global Infrastructure Partners.* 
  • Providence Equity Partners on its acquisition of Tax Systems (a global tax and accounting software provider) from Bowmark Capital.*
  • Antin Infrastructure Partners, Mubadala, Goldman Sachs, Interogo Holding AG and Newlight Partners (as shareholders of CityFibre) in relation to an ownership and sale related agreement with Comcast (as shareholder of Sky) in the context of a separate deal for Sky to launch its broadband services on the CityFibre network.* 
  • Tokyo Gas Limited on its proposed acquisition of an offshore wind project off the coast of England. 
  • Azure Power Global Limited (a US listed renewable energy company) on the sale of the group's Indian solar rooftop asset portfolio (approximately 152.47 MW comprising 1,247 sites spread across 16 companies).*
  • Veolia Environnement S.A. on its joint venture with regional Indian companies engaged in the industrial waste management business in India through its wholly owned subsidiary.*
  • Olympus Capital Holdings Asia Limited in relation to its proposed acquisition of entities owning and operating hydropower projects in Himachal Pradesh (a state in north-western India).*
  • Cube Highways and Infrastructure, a company managing and operating a portfolio of toll roads in India, in relation to its acquisition of an SPV operating a road project out of Kerala (a state in southern India) on a BOT basis.*
